Doniford Bay Holiday Park in Somerset

Just east of Exmoor National Park you can find Doniford Bay Holiday Park, sat right beside the Somerset seaside. Across the water you can see Wales and behind our park there’s a local railway system that’s run with some wonderful old steam locomotives.

On the drive here you’ll descend downhill whilst catching sight of our park and the sea beyond. This sloped terrain means you can find a good selection of holiday homes for sale with their own sea views. You might be interested in buying one of the static caravans lined up along our seafront path or close to our sports and leisure facilities.

We’ve got indoor and outdoor pools plus a big multi-lane waterslide that’s great fun in the summer. There’s our all-weather multi-sports court, crazy golf course, French boules pit, tennis court, climbing wall, zip wire and a high ropes course. So you won’t have any trouble keeping active or entertaining visiting friends and family.

All the holiday homes on our park are just minutes from the beach which you can access via a concrete stairwell amongst the rocks. The beach itself is a vast stretch of shingle and pebbles mixed with sand, which is full of pretty rock pools. There’s also a nice sandy beach at Minehead, just 10 miles down the coast.

Why choose Doniford Bay?

Steam train enthusiasts will love the local West Somerset Railway. Running up to seven locomotives in each direction from Minehead to Bishop’s Lydeard, this 20 mile track has a stop just a 15 minute walk from our park. In fact you can see the train coming around the bay from up by our cliff top garden, which has its own telescope and is a great place for family picnics.

The great range of sports facilities we have here can also give the opportunity to brush up your skills on a regular basis. Why not pick up a new hobby like archery or fencing during your stays here?

Our jam packed entertainment schedule also means you’ll have no trouble keeping younger family members entertained whilst they’re here too. We have our kids’ clubs and fun activities on all day, every day so there’s loads for them to get stuck into. And you can get away from it all in our exclusive Owners’ lounge and relax with friends or make new ones with other like-minded holiday home owners. As an owner at Doniford Bay you can really feel the community spirit in the air, with a host of owner events, clubs, experience days and parties to choose from.

Things to do in Somerset

If you head out to Exmoor National Park you can go looking for wild ponies on the hills, or there’s the grounds and gardens of Dunster Castle to explore. Tropiquaria Wildlife and Adventure Park is a great place to take kids. There’s a huge range of animals on display from parrots, spiders and meerkats to lemurs, snakes and tortoises. They even organise feeding experiences if you want to get a little closer to the beasties.

If you’re up for a long day out, you could even travel over to some of Somerset’s other famous attractions like Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury Tor and the Grand Pier at Weston-super-Mare.
